The Dude Diet – Easy, Healthy, Recipe Cookbook

Snack for Clean Eating, simple guide.

One of the biggest downfalls for staying on your healthy way is snacking. It’s just a small amount to hold you over right? Well keeping this list with you can help you curve those urges to get just a quick bite that may not be the healthy option available.

Fresh veggies with chunky guacamole. This can be just your favorite fresh veggies like carrots, celery, or bell peppers. The idea is taking less than 5 minutes in the morning, or right before you head to bed to get this snack ready. This quickly can be enough for just the day ahead, or for almost the whole week. You will be amazed on how quickly you can pack 2 containers with guacamole and carrots or celery.

Simple Guacamole

Simple Guacamole

    Avocado
    Garlic
    Salt
    Lime juice
    Fork to mash it all.

In a matter of 2 minutes you could have this quickly packaged for some simple clean eating on the go. Another 2 minutes for cleaning and cutting of the carrots, celery, or bell peppers, and you have something to keep you from going for those bags of potato chips that are in the break room vending machines.

Another great thing to have is a Nut butter of some sort. Peanut or Almond Butter goes great with Apple, Banana, celery, or carrots. This is again a great way to incorporate some other snack for clean eating that won’t make you add 15 more ingredients to your shopping list.

I’m someone that if I don’t spend more than about 5 minutes on food prep before I head out, I will be more incline to stick with this. Because you are adding 1 other ingredient to what has already been placed on your shopping list, you will be saving both time and money as well. The great staple of fresh fruits.

All the main and most popular fruits will be here as well. Strawberries, watermelon, bananas, blueberries, cherries, apples, and pineapples.
Pineapples are the only one that I could think of that would take more than just a quick rinse and dry before you place them into a container for the day. The one thing that has always pushed me away has been reminding myself that I need to pick them up every 3-5 days to keep them fresh in my home.

None of this has even touched the other quick breads, muffins, or rollups that you can incorporate once you have a little more time to put into this. This is always something that I see most people including my own family start to pick up after several months as they want to start adding variety without adding a huge time commitment.

The Clean 15 Food List

The clean 15 food list is in no way a full list or perfect for each person. The follow list is something that you can quickly look at and remember after the first month or so. At the end of the day, you have to figure out what is going to work best for you and your family. This just keeps you from going back and picking up something in a box for a “fast” dinner or lunch when there are so many other and better options out there.

MEAT

    Beef
    Chicken
    Eggs
    Pork

GRAINS

    Buckwheat

    Most Fruits including Dried/frozen Fruit
100% Fruit Juice (check the ingredients list to confirm)

FOOD TO AVOID

Those artificial sweeteners like Aspartame, Erythritol, Neotame, Sucralose, and Xylitol.

Clean Simple Eating, What is it?

Clean Simple Eating, What is it?

Clean simple eating is defined by eating simple, whole foods without artificial ingredients by most people. The goal is to remove as much of the processed foods, refined grains, added sugars, trans fats, and heavy saturated fats. A small portion of people will then start to remove dairy, gluten products, and soy as they may not add any additional benefits other than filler.

You will try to stay away from foods with added sugar, salt or that are highly processed. Usually those will include packaged foods like donuts, premade microwave meals, and there ingredients list are filled with very long or technical terms. Note that you can have foods that are cooked, pasteurized and preserved. Not everything has to be eaten in it’s raw form. We still need variety that the other cooking or preparation methods can provide.

This also means that you will be going to get your groceries every three to four days to keep everything fresh. Making sure that you have a shopping list of what you need or want to get will keep you from going to the simple packaged food especially at the beginning.

When you first start out trying to change to eating simple and clean, having some resources like a quick shopping or grocery list will keep your mind off of the easier packaged foods. Having a meal plan for the week is going to help you save money, spend less time looking for the foods you want, and you’ll start keeping track of what a good price is for the foods that you eat regularly. Don’t get caught up on trying to change over all at once. This is something that will take you time to complete for most people. Starting out by just removing those easy one box meals or the one pan meals will help a ton. Not to say that can’t be something you reach for once a month, or allow your kids to help make something that they remember eating when they were younger. It’s all about finding that middle ground for you and your family of time and wasting less money. If you take a package of premade cookies and a bag of apples, your going to want to grab more cookies before you go to grab another apple to eat.

Understand the paleo zucchini bread recipe.

Paleo zucchini bread is not as a gluten-free diet, although there are some similarities. You can say that the Paleo diet is always free of gluten, but a gluten-free diet does not necessarily mean you are following the paleo zucchini bread. The reason my “gluten-free” research eventually led to information about the paleo zucchini bread diet is that both rely on research that strongly suggests that people should not eat whole grains or anything, made from whole grains. This is, of course, a slap in the face of the common idea that whole grains are an essential component of healthy eating.

In our fast-paced world, eating in a restaurant is what most of us do several times a week. The way to do this and stick to the paleo zucchini bread diet is to identify your product list and arrange a paleo zucchini bread, although you’ll sometimes compromise. For example, ask for a grilled chicken salad, which can be purchased in many cozy restaurants and even in fast food restaurants. Ask about cheese and toast, but ask for oil and vinegar as a salad, as long as the oil is olive oil. The reason why you do not want to order Italian dressing or vinegar is that most of them are based on soybean oil or rapeseed, which is not part of the Palio diet. If they do not have olive oil? Here you can make an informed compromise. Go ahead and get a package of soybean oil on the menu. Just know that this is not what you want to do all the time. Some people skip the bandage.

Not in the mood for power? No problem you can go to the steaks restaurant and order a great big steak if there is nothing sticky or cheesy. Instead of baked potatoes with butter and sour cream, take asparagus steamed, grilled, broccoli, spinach or mixed vegetables. Most steaks offer some types of cooked vegetables allowed in the paleo zucchini bread diet. As a last resort, take the baked potato but do not put anything on it, except for the meat juice, which is not bad.

Suppose you are in a cafeteria-style place with a comfortable meal. First of all, skip the bread. Drink unsweetened tea or water. The paleo zucchini bread-friendly snacks which can be found usually in these places are hamburger steak, roast chicken or fried fish. Avoid the loaf of meat, which generally has bread crumbs. For parties, take vegetables that do not include potatoes, cheese or bread. Green turnips, green cabbage, green beans, Brussels sprouts, cooked gourds or cooked cabbage are just a few of the options you can find in the accepted cafeteria. Everything cooked in gravy or animal fat is fine if it is not profoundly inverted. Of course, dessert is not an option if you are not a cup of fruit.

The ability to eat outside while maintaining paleo zucchini bread compliance is not limited to the above examples. The key is knowing that you can and can not eat. Be kind to your server and can help you make informed decisions based on ingredients in different dishes.

How to Prepare a Gluten Free Thanksgiving.

If this is your first thank you to a member of the family of gastrointestinal disorders, you may wonder if you will eat any of your favorite foods. Traditional filling, green beans tangerine, sweet potato casserole, pumpkin pie all contain gluten! But do not be afraid, it is possible to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner and not eat a bit of gluten. Heres how to do this.

Decide on the list and find safe recipes.

What foods do “make” Thanksgiving for you? For me is the cornbread filling, gravy, green bean tart, sweet potato pie. If I can get this, I’m happy. Gluten-free versions of most foods can be made; it takes only some time to search the web and find a recipe that contains good reviews and ingredients you can reasonably find. Once you’ve completed a list, check out some of the most popular free recipe blogs. These blogs are popular because they contain good recipes and most of them will have a holiday section that includes all Thanksgiving and Christmas recipes.

Shop for specialty components.

Now that you know what you’re doing, it’s time to shop. First, check to make sure gluten contains any of the traditional recipes you plan to use. Call your digestive guest and run all the ingredients out. If you are not familiar with gluten-free foods, you may be surprised at all ingredients containing wheat. Campbell’s soup is probably gracious of whatever the most surprising reason for gluten for those who cook for the first time.

If you want to buy specialty products, try Gluten Free Mall or Amazon. Both of these sites carry a wide range of foods that do not contain gluten. Or you can ask your gluten-free guest to send you some of the ingredients you keep. I brought the gluten-free pasta to a family dinner so that the chef would not have to spend time looking for him at the grocery store.

Use containers and utensils that are not contaminated with gluten.
All your hard work will be undone if cooked or served with kitchen equipment containing gluten-free parts. For example, wooden spoons, wooden filing trays, and wood cutting boards are prohibited if they are all eaten through gluten-containing food. The same applies to your bread machine if it is ever wheat bread. I am also wary of baguette basins, pizza stones, and cast iron pans.

Label dishes to avoid mutual contact.
Once the table is loaded with delicious foods, name the gluten-free dishes and make sure they have their spoons provided. Warn your guests not to move the serving utensils between dishes. Even tiny crumbs of ordinary bread filling will contaminate non-gluten-free foods and can make your guest who does not tolerate gluten is violently ill.
